The Omega Project will be hosting an evening of acoustic music on Thursday Oct. 2nd @ The Crow’s Nest in Santa Cruz.  Carlos will be playing an opening solo set, followed by an acoustic set featuring Patience and Carlos.
The show is from 8:30 – 11:30.  $5 and all ages.

Upcoming Omega Project Events

The Omega Project will be hosting a 30th birthday party for Tilly the dharma punk on Sat. May 31st at Malone’s in Scotts Valley, Ca.  The show is between 5:30 and 8 PM.  All ages + FREE.  Thanks to everyone who came out last Friday and made our first gig at Malone’s a success.  Much love to Jeannette who has invited us back.  Now that we have felt out this venue, our next show should be pocket deep, so please come out and help us wish Tilly a magical 30th birthday!

Also, The Omega Project will be performing on Thur. June 5th @ The Crow’s Nest in Santa Cruz, Ca from 8:30 – 11:30 pm.  $5 at the door.  This venue is right on the harbor, by the ocean.  This is our first time at The Crow’s Nest, so please help us make this a great event.

Big Thanks to “Radical” Russ & Cannabis Karri @ NORMLs Daily Audio Stash for featuring The Omega Project as their musical guest on 5/24/08.  No one can say enough good about NORML and this daily podcast is the largest of its kind in the world.  The war on “drugs” is a vicious cycle in which ignorant, uneducated, soldiers are persecuting innocent civilians.  It is based on outdated ideas and science.  Prohibition only worsens the problem.  Pushing “drugs” to the black market, making them expensive and unsafe.  Thanks to NORML for giving The Omega Project support and allowing us an arena to speak our minds and share our music.

Moe’s Alley was a Success!

Big Thanks to Moe’s Alley for a great show on Tue. night!  Much love to Junior Boogie, and all of our friends who came out on a cold and rainy Tuesday to help make this a special event.  This was our first time back at Moe’s in 3 years, and it was an amazing show.  Russell sat in on keyboard and the sound was mixed excellent.  ClayChollar of Constant Creations Studio added amazing visuals with his live graphic art.  If anyone has any pictures of the show, please email them to me at theomegaproject@onebox.com .

Happy 15th birthday to WAMM and much love to everyone who came out to the 420 celebration!  This was a great event and I am beginning to  realize how amazing Santa Cruz is!  Mike and Valerie Coral didn’t need to dress up, because they are SuperHeros.  Below is Valeries response to the UCSC 420 Lockdown…

Opinion of The UCSC 420 Lockdown

UCSC’s 420 lockdown is not about 420. It is an aggressive action against peaceful assembly. Students vote. In Santa Cruz county more that a decade ago medical marijuana passed by 71% and last year marijuana was declared the lowest priority of the law. UCSC, take a breath!

Among the responsibilities of every institution of higher education, including UCSC is: to uphold the constitution, to protect the rights of each student, not to violate them, and to provide public access to citizens of our community whose taxes support UCSC.

Ask yourself, should UCSC be denying the right to peacefully assemble? When 4000 people assemble in support of a common interest this community takes note. The university seeks to create chaos out of peaceful assembly. Shame on you! We thought we taught our elders better! See: The First Amendment of the Constitution.

We welcome everyone (including all people turned away from UCSC) to our free party to celebrate WAMM’s Quinceñera — 15 years of serving each other with medical marijuana. DIY 4/20 at 4:20pm. Join the revolution of consciousness with us. Over 700,000 of those are for possession only.
3 states spend more money on corrections then education.
60% of prisoners are incarcerated for drugs.

Global Warming, resource wars, pharmaceutical companies shoving pills down our throats,
Its time to legalize cannabis for medical, recreation, and industry.

Much Love to The Atrium

Thanks to everyone who came out to The Atrium in The Catalyst! That was our first show there are and about 100 people heard us play. Semi-Large and with large gaps (the doors and the stairs), the sound and energy seemed to gust out of the room. The Atrium is interesting because they don’t run the whole band through a PA, so the mix, consisting of 2 vocal mics, 1 kick mic, and Patience and my amps, was muddy. But that added to the style that developed over the set, and we locked in to places we haven’t went live before. Much love to The Atrium’s soundguy Kyle. BIG UPS as always to WeareCAgrown.com

The Omega Project @ The Atrium/The Catalyst Sat. April 5th

The Omega Project will be playing at The Atrium in The Catalyst on Sat. April 5th.  We are the second out of three bands so we are supposed to go on at 10.  The Catalyst is one of the best venues in Santa Cruz, and The Atrium is the outer room.  If we fill it up with people, we will get booked for inside.  So please come out and help us celebrate Carlos’ 27th birthday.  As always, the show will be sponsored by We Are California Grown.

Thanks to Don Quixote’s Music Hall

Thanks to everyone who came out to party with us at Don Quixotes last Wed.! It was a smokin hot show and there was a great turn out. BIG UPS to Clay Chollar of constantcreations.org who airbrushed live during the second set. Also, thanks to Wild Bill who showed his work and donated a piece to the auction. The acoustic set was sweet, Patience and I are really enjoying working with such great sound equipment and such talented sound people. (Thanks to Lake Barnett! – Don Quixote’s great sound guy) This was only our second show with Frank, and at the last one we had Russell on keys. So this was the first time that we played out together, the distance that we have covered in two shows amazes me, and each time I play with Frank we find our voice more and more. %10 of the proceeds went to The Marijuana Policy Project.
